Hydrotesting services

Pressure controlled.
Integrity confirmed.

Abrican provides engineered hydrostatic testing support for pipelines, process piping and pressure equipment—helping clients verify strength, leak tightness and readiness for service.

Integrity assurance

Confidence before
the system goes live.

Hydrotesting uses an approved incompressible test fluid, normally water, to verify a system at a defined pressure and hold period. Air is removed before pressurization, performance is monitored throughout the test, and the system is inspected for leakage or abnormal response.

Each scope is executed against the client-approved test pack, applicable engineering requirements and the defined safe operating limits of the system.

Testing applications

From construction
to return to service.

Structured testing support across new-build, maintenance, repair and pre-commissioning programs.

Pipelines & flowlines

Strength and leak-tightness verification for new, modified or maintained pipeline systems.

Process piping

Controlled testing of piping networks, welds, flanges and mechanical connections before service.

Pressure equipment

Hydrostatic test support for pressure vessels, tanks and associated assemblies within approved limits.

Shutdowns & repairs

Post-maintenance validation to support the safe return of repaired or inspected equipment to operation.

Pre-commissioning

Documented test execution as part of construction completion and system handover programs.

Integrity verification

Planned testing to confirm continued leak tightness and suitability against the approved engineering basis.

Controlled test process

One disciplined sequence.
Clear, traceable results.

The exact pressure, hold time, acceptance criteria and test boundaries are defined by the approved procedure—not assumed from a generic percentage of design pressure.

01

Review

Confirm drawings, boundaries, test pressure, medium and acceptance criteria.

02

Prepare

Isolate the system, verify connections and establish controlled work zones.

03

Fill & vent

Introduce test fluid progressively and remove trapped air from high points.

04

Pressurize

Raise pressure in controlled stages while monitoring system response.

05

Hold & inspect

Maintain the approved pressure and check for leakage or abnormal behavior.

06

Close out

Depressurize safely, drain responsibly and issue documented test results.

Equipment and documentation

Accurate measurement.
Reliable evidence.

Abrican configures each test spread to the system volume, pressure range, location and recording requirements. Calibration validity and equipment condition are verified before use.

Hydrotesting QHSE

Stored energy managed.
Every boundary controlled.

Although water is less compressible than gas, hydrotesting remains a high-energy activity. Abrican applies task-specific controls to protect people, equipment and the environment throughout preparation, testing and reinstatement.

  • Approved test procedure, permit and task risk assessment
  • Verified test boundaries, blinds, connections and restraints
  • Calibrated instruments and correctly sized pressure-relief protection
  • Controlled pressurization and depressurization rates
  • Exclusion zones, access control and clear communication
  • Responsible test-water containment, treatment and disposal
